For about seven years we have got used to living and coping with this economic crisis. Despite all the negative effects it has had on our lives, surprisingly enough, there has also been a silver lining. We have made a step backwards and started doing like our grandparents, for whom everything was valuable and nothing was thrown away, but rather recycled, reused.

On the other hand, some ethic luckily comes into our help when things get hard!

Hence, tons of recipes have been made and shared all over the world through the Internet, where leftovers and scraps were used, and in a very successful way! So, leftovers and scraps turn into a good occasion to unleash all one’s inventiveness in cooking.

The importance of food

More and more importance – finally! – has been given to food. Indeed, as they say, what we eat is what we are and this concept has also been embraced by the great event that started in May in Milan.

Feeding the planet, energy for life, this is the theme of the Expo 2015. Feeding the planet by using all the possible sustainable growing techniques to let the Earth regenerate in order to be able to feed us in turn. Because food is the source where our body and soul take their energy from.

  • paying less for these products;
  • a huge quantity of less wasted food;
