Sweet memories from the oven.
The smell of a freshly baked cake is one of those memories you can't easily forget. It's always a pleasure when you go into the kitchen and a new apple pie is waiting for you on the table :)
Take the eggs and whisk them accurately. Add 150 grams of sugar and amalgamate everything.
Join 200 gr flour, the grated lemon peel and a few tablespoons of milk. Then dissolve the yeast into some warm milk, in a coffee cup. Once done, add the dissolved yeast to the above compound.
Knead it all until the paste is soft and consistent (avoid any flour lump).
Take a baking pan and grease its bottom with some butter. Pour the paste into the pan by spreading it right up to the edges.
Now it's time to prepare the apples. Wash them, peel them and cut them into slices. Lay those slices over the paste, into the pan. Cover the whole thing with a tablespoon of sugar and a few knobs of butter. Lastly put the baking pan in the oven at 180 ° C (375 ° F) for 30 minutes.
Once the cake is baked let it rest for about an hour, in order to leave it to cool. The apple pie is great if accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
