A jam full of history and romance.
The apple is a fruit rich of vitamins and deep meanings. From Adam + Eve and the apple of sin, to Era, Atena and Afrodite with the apple of dissension. Do you remember that with the apple given by Paride to Afrodite, they started the Trojan war?
Besides the traditional meanings of "love", it's funny to notice that in ancient Greece, if you thrown an apple towards a woman it was a declaration of love.
Since you don't like to waste food, even if for romantic purposes, let's make a delicious sweet apple jam instead!
Clean and cut the apples into small pieces. Place them in a pot, add the lemon juice, the sugar and cook them at low flame. Add half glass of water and cook for 15 minutes.
After that time take a hand blender and blend all the mixture, evenly. Then cook it for at least one hour, adding water little by little.
As soon as the desired density is reached, turn off the heat and pour the jam into sterilized jars, and close them tightly. Boil them in a water bath for 30 minutes. Leave them to cool in their water.
The apple jam is ready!
